oh you're right about freeware, given the closed nature of the PSP system and how much control Sony insists on exerting over it, ie: why things like Flash are only up to v. 6 while the rest of the world is authoring at v. 8 and probably using v.10.x.x reader, I doubt there is probably any freeware available to install onto the PSP directly. Sorry about that, didn't cross my mind.

Another option you could explore that would not only provide file conversion functionality but a wealth of other things, if it's of any interest to you, you're up for a challenge, or even if it's compatible with your system, is Ubuntu Linux (ubuntu.com for general information, download the most recent playstation version at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/jaunty/release/ , check out the user support forums before installation if you're considering to ensure its right for you at http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=332 the hardware forum). You may already know about it and have decided it's not for you but it's always an option available.

best of luck!

It would be better to have an extra field (besides the "File" field) where you can type in the URL and that Media Convert transfers it automatically to itself.

Also it would be nice, if you could implement support for video portals like Youtube, Google Video (and others), so that you could just put in the encoded video URL and that Media Convert will decode it automatically to be able to download/convert the video.

Would be great to hear some feedback about my ideas!

Through the evening, I have been trying to convert .zip files (I tested three-four different files to be sure) to other formats (including .zip) and have been unable to. The files upload properly, but then I'm stuck at the "data processing... this may take several minutes" (green progress bar) till the browser reports a time out (fifteen minutes and above, I think). Before this, it worked well enough. Is something wrong?

Also, when you try to split files above 100 MB into 5000 kb sizes, the size they're split into always ends up being 5602 kb or so. Is this a bug or is this happening because the splitting is limited to a set number of split files?

Normally a CD would have an audio quality of 160kbps and many audio files are encoded at higher 192 or 256kbps qualities. I think you should expand the audio quality options we have here since 128kbps is below standards nowadays...
Thanks
