Not all convertions were successful..
I had to repeat the process two to three times before I got the converted file.

Why? are there ways in which that could be repaired?

Hmmm, same here but it's my first time using this tool. Trying to convert a 6Mb vid clip from .rm format to .wmv.

Conversion seemed to go Ok but Firefox still barfs on .php, so i pasted the results URL into Opera and got a clean download ... but it was only a 2.2Mb file, audio only, no video.

Will try a few more times & report back, & will also review FAQs, etc. up here on the forum.

not happy to wait that long but really need the file..
why .php only?
crap--that doesn't sound too good as i might be using this tool more than once...

i'll be waiting for your reports Razz Surprised Very Happy

may be you selected Real Audio (.rm) input format and
not Real Video (.rm).

and as you can convert any sound file into a wmv video file (so no image, only audio), you did not select the conversion that you thought (audio -> wmv instead of video -> wmv)

admin, that's what i must have done. this time i was careful to select ".rm-video" as my source and am happy to report that xfer to .wmv worked just fine.

Nice work, and i'm going to spread the word ... you've got a good online service here. People ought'ta know about it, thx.

well that's not the case with me----although that was my first mistake, but i figured it out in a couple of minutes..
my real problem was, along with the downloading process that did not finish the job in the end until a couple of restarts, when I finally was able to download it for my big report in class---to my disappointment, i was informed by the player(.wmv) that the file was corrupted midway through the clip.

now what was that?..plus there were green and red lines and discolorations in the clip..is that normal when converting video files?

Thanks for the attention and replies! Wink

Hmmm, it sounds like you didn't get a clean conversion. I've found that i have better luck getting a download with Opera than with Firefox (i never use IE), i don't know why this is so. If you'd like to post your input file up onto a file-sharing site somewhere and PM me, i'll see if i can convert it for you & will in turn send the link to a clean copy.

And i'd like to qualify my earlier comment about success. It's true, i converted and got a .wmv file that plays well enough on my own computer all the way thru', audio and video. But when i tried to place it on livevideo only the first 10 seconds of video were carried over.

All of the audio plays when a user clicks on the video, but after exactly 10 seconds the video stops and the audio continues.

The upload will be accepted and the file will process ... but the movie will show two durations: 4:09 seconds when you select the movie, but only 0:10 seconds when you see it in the listing. The timer will count down as the file proceeds, but only the audio plays.

I ended up converting it from .wmv to .flv just so i could post it on livevideo. What i've found, too, is that the .wmv would xfer to and play properly on Youtube but not on livevideo, so go figure!

There shouldn't be any discolorations. Pls upload the input clip somewhere and PM me with the link, if i get a clean dl i'll send it back and tell you exactly what i did to get it.
